In 2009, I was disappointed in the results of the 2008 election. Even though I had been a Republican for over 30 years in a Democrat controlled state I felt it was time get involved, that night I attended my first Gateway Republican Women meeting. Since 2011 I have been an Officer of at least 1 of our 3 Republican organizations in Berkeley County.
I was born and raised in Putnam County, WV. I graduated from Hurricane High School and Marshall University. After earning my Master’s in Speech Pathology, I worked for 31 years in West Virginia schools and in private practice.
I moved to Berkeley County in 2003 and married Joseph Brush in 2006. I have held leadership positions in:
Joe and I are active in our church, Independent Bible Church as small group leaders. I have served on the Advisory Committee of Children’s Evangelism Fellowship as well as helpers and teachers for after school Good News Club.
I was born and raised in West Virginia. I worked in West Virginia Schools for over 30 years. The last 7 years were in Jefferson County Schools as Speech Pathologist retiring in 2010.

For most of my life I have given my best to ensure the community thrives and continues to grow. This has been my goal ever since I became an educator over 30 years ago.
I am a retired teacher and nothing is more important to me than ensuring the future of our community's children. The money should follow the child to best fit their educational needs – not force them into a one size fits all approach that traditional public education has become in our state.
Small Businesses run the local economy. It is my job and my goal to continue working towards initiatives that better the economy for those small businesses.
Even before the 2020 Election I have been concerned about election Integrity. As a member of the Berkeley County Republican Executive Committee, since 2011 I have recruited experienced and knowledgeable poll workers to ensure the integrity of our election process.
Lower taxes can stimulate economic growth by putting more money in the hands of individuals and businesses, encouraging spending, investment, and job creation. Berkeley County was the only state to pass Constitutional Amendment 2 to eliminate the car tax from our state’s constitution. While the measure didn’t pass statewide, I take pride in the power of our grassroots effort that ultimately led to the legislature’s elimination of the car tax.
The Tea is a long held tradition for Gateway Republican Women. We enjoy an afternoon strengthening our bonds and getting ready for the year ahead. Annual dues are collected and a short program highlights upcoming events at the local, state and national level. Join us as we celebrate our growing club and look ahead to 2024!
Myself and my team are looking for trusted individuals to volunteer in our efforts to win on Election Day.
